Missing Wires Mystery

Case of the missing wires.

Lauri and I were busy cutting when Cheri arrived and said. "Where's the wires?"

"What wires?"

"The wires that hold our signs." Sure enough two wires stretched across the hall and two of our banners were missing. Who would do such a thing? Even the hooks had been pulled from the wall. After Cheri, started cutting hair, she insisted that I call Allen in custodial.

"He's your friend, you call him since you have more clout." I called anyway and left a message,. "This is Angela in the Barber shop I'm calling as Cheri's secretary, our barber shop has experienced a theft. Two wires with two of our banners are missing."

It seemed only minutes when Travis appeared in the hall with a cart and ladder and wire to repair the damage. I thought this was quick service.

No, Custodial had received 4-5 calls about the missing wires before I called.

" It must have been that wild Marti Gras

party on the weekend."

The Statesman 's Monday headline. "Mardi Gras Arrests higher this year than 2010 event." Sounded like a wild night. Upon further inquiry I read that officers issued three alcohol arrests citations. No arrests were made last year. Another example of a true statement sensationalized in a headline.

Actually I doubt whether someone intentionally stole the wire. They probably, tried to chin them selves, high jump it or tried to swing on it which ripped out the hardware. "Looks like we pulled out the wire, we better get rid of the evidence."

The Marti -Gras theory made sense to me.
