Birthday Lunches/ Cone heads

Another year has passed and Nancy, Kathy and I have turned a year older. Following our tradition we go out to eat. Lest you think I’m dwelling on the past, I remind you I'm going back in time on my blogs. With Noel in and out of the hospital, I got behind on blogging.

So lets start with my birthday in November and our night out. Ruby Tuesday won out, close, convenient, hadn't been there since it was Marie Callenders Pie place.

On Wednesday night it wasn't very busy and was very quiet. That's why we chose it over Texas Roadhouse, which is across the street, where they are rowdy and throw peanuts on the floor. I felt a little sorry for Ruby Tuesdays since they weren't very busy and was glad we chose them.

While we wait for our order I start shooting pictures of each other, another tradition. I’m going to include a photography lesson # 2 at this point. ( My first lesson was how to shoot a parade in my August Blog.

Lesson, #2 avoid clutter in the background, check for sticks, trees, plants and etc coming out of heads.

I shoot Kathy and Nancy and use their heads to cover up the clutter in the background.

They shoot me. I like the pose and smile but Here's Mrs. Lamp Head

Try again, that's better.

Nancy shoots Kathy & I.. Why are there two lights between the heads? Ok lets have some fun with this.

I go against rule #2 and make cone heads out of Nancy and Kathy.

Kathy makes a cone head out of Nancy & I. . Gee This fun breaking the rule.

We start laughing and giggling while looking at our pictures. The quiet desired restaurant be comes noisy because of our own silliness. Our food arrives and we were ravenous and eat without taking a pictures.

We got free desserts because of my birthday.

We ask the waitress to take our pictures but it's lousy because it's too dark.

In the lobby while we wait for Kathy to pay, Nancy decides to sip a cup of tea, if she could just pick it up.

Afterwords we shop at Sam's Club and use

Nancy's card. Last year we shopped at the

mall. Another fun filled evening with the girls.

Thank you Nancy and Kathy for such a fun evening.

On the weekend Joseph and Kim came to visit Noel and take me out to another birthday dinner. Where shall we eat? I thought Ruby Tuesday was delicious and wanted to return.

I shouldn't have felt sorry for Ruby Tuesday on Wednesday because we had a twenty minute wait to be seated Friday night.

In a different booth I started shooting pictures to pass the time waiting on our order.

Since I had the method of Cone Heads down,

why not try two heads under one cone?

Agains breaking rule #2 It's so fun to break rules.

I had yummy salmon so delicious. Thank you very much Joseph and Kim.

Now jumping ahead to Jan 2011 we celebrated Nancy and Kathy's birthday last week. Sticking close to home we ate at the the Main Street Grilll in Preston. We have loved this place in the past, but they went out of business. But now they are back, located inn the Old Snootey Cat, Shipleys Restaurant, Tony's/ Tampico, and a host of other names and owners.

Call it boredom or whatever, I start taking pictures again. I used to wait until the food arrived. Now I start early.

The glass pose

Kathy looks like a model. I try it and look clutsy.

Here Nancy has spikes. ( unintentional)

I've learned how to get free dessert.

First tell the waitress that we are celebrating birthdays. Then ask them to sing Happy Birthday. Sometimes they sing but if they don't they offer free dessert. At the Main Street Grill, they were good sports and sang plus gave us yummy cheese cake.

Happy Birthday All, now we're a year older.

  4. Ruby Tuesday's is closed?? I never did get to eat there. Main Street Grill used to be the Sinclair service station, as well as the Snooty Cat. I always sit there & marvel at how well they changed the garage doors into windows.

    Happy birthday months late, LOL

  5. Cheri,
You got to be kidding. Ruby Tuesday is closed? You're right, it's a good thing I ate there twice.
