What's Happening

What’ Happening on Campus?

It seems like every week is National something week. The university has already had Wellness Week, Natural Resources Week, Improve your relation ship week, and last week was E-Week as in Engineering Week.

It looked like they had some fun activities planned. Quick draw calculator contest. Nerd contest, at least they can laugh at themselves. “Enginerds.” I find engineers hard to converse with in the barber shop. I saw the homemade Hovercraft bowling upstairs from the Statesman, “ The nerdiest of the nerds competed for first place in the Geeky Guy competition.”

There’s so many fun activities and cultural events going on that I wished I lived closer to Logan, but I would go broke attending all of them. It seems the standard price for non student is 13.00 , same as a haircut. Why I remember when tickets, and admission to events, dances banquets was 5.00 & 6.00. And haircut was 1.25.

I searched long and hard to find an event for 8.00. It was a Symphony performing Mahler. Shucks, I like the Three B’s, Mozart and Haydn. I haven’t acquired a taste for Mahler.

Designated spots ( between two pillars by the bookstore) are assigned to organizations and the students set up tables with display across from us. So we get to visit with them and they try and sell us tickets to events.

Last week was the Chinese New Year celebration,

this week students from Dominican Republic barkered tickets to their fund raising dinner for Haiti. They were a lively group in the hall, handing out flyers to passers by. That young man would make a good missionary.

Coming up an Indoor Triathlon, never heard of an indoor one. “Hey you guys want to make up a team., I asked my co-workers? They Walking and biking were quickly volunteered for leaving the swimming to me. For get that.

Here’s an catchy banner.

Here’s an interesting poster. I’m not sure what a Loggers Ball is but I like the old fashion look of
the poster.

And don't forget Harlem Night

Well, that’s about if for now.
