Now pedestrians have to be careful
of on coming cars in the middle of campus

I’ve heard mumblings about this in the barber shop from campus employees. “Let the Old Main workers find parking around and off campus like the rest of us.”
Friday one of the provosts came in and I said,
“Hey, some people think you guys should find your own parking like the rest of us instead of having a special sidewalk turned into a road.” The provost joked around and said, “Every morning I drive up 4th north then forget the parking lot is closed and have to turn around and backtrack to the new temporary road.” At least the Provost had a sense of humor.
The school paper reported, "Foot traffic in the area is high, and a five- mile-per-hour speed limit will be strictly enforced." I guess I better not drive on the new temp road.
July 5, 2011 I just learned today that his reconverted sidewalk originally was a road called Champ Road which led to Old Main.
