Going Retro

When I was growing up I thought mother's glasses in her young photos were so old fashion.

Plastic frames were the in thing during the 50's and 60's

Last Spring break I found this old pair of
sunglasses frames in the bathroom drawer.

I bought them in the sixties because I thought they were so cool.. Kids now days things plastic frames are innovative. NOT, They are retro. We've already lived through that era.

Then the Beatles became popular and I bought pair of these Ringo Star sunglasses, Ben Franklin or Granny glasses. They were wire a bit like mother's old pair, but hey, the Beetles made them popular.

In 2000 light weight wire framed glasses became popular and I partook.

Weren't these a bit
like Mother's old
40's glasses.

Once again Retro
Styles just keep
repeating themselves.

  1. What a fun walk through time----through the "lens" of glasses frames.

Mom looks so carefree and happy in the first and last shots.
